OUR COMMERCIAL FIT OUT PROCESS: FROM ENQUIRY TO HANDOVER

PROJECT DELIVERY PROCESS. CLEAR STAGES. DEFINED TIMESCALES. ONE ACCOUNTABLE TEAM.

RED delivers commercial fit-outs and manufactured furniture through a structured, process that integrates site surveys,

technical design, manufacturing and installation into a single programme.

How we deliver projects

Begin your office fit-out process with a clear understanding of the steps your project moves through, what happens at each stage, and when decisions are required.

All stages reflect our integrated model: one schedule covering surveys, manufacturing, fit-out and installation.

The process

Initial enquiry & site survey

what happens

We review the brief, confirm scope and complete a measured site survey. Access routes, services, constraints and live-site conditions are mapped early so design and manufacturing can proceed without rework.

Timeframe

Quotation timelines and survey dates are agreed with you.

Deliverables

Site notes, measured survey data, constraint and feasibility reports.

Client approval needed

Confirmation of scope and any known access or operational constraints.

Integration Point

Survey data is used directly in technical drawings and manufacturing packs.

Design development & specification

what happens

We prepare space plans, elevations and specifications. Materials, finishes, and furniture requirements are agreed. Technical details are made buildable, with tolerances and installation access planned in.

Timeframe

The design development phase is scheduled with you, based on the scope and complexity of your project.

Deliverables

Space plans and elevations, furniture specifications, material and finish selections.

Client approval needed

Approval of drawings and specifications.

Integration Point

Approved documents move straight into production planning and lead-time confirmation.

quotation & programme confirmation

what happens

A detailed quotation is issued with clear inclusions and exclusions. Manufacturing lead times and installation sequencing are confirmed and combined into one programme. RAMS and access dates are scheduled.

Timeframe

Quotation timelines are agreed with you to guarantee accurate deliverables.

Deliverables

Itemised quotation, programme outline and planned RAMS issuance date.

Client approval needed

Approval to proceed with the quotation and programme.

Integration Point

Fit-out timelines and manufacturing windows are aligned into a single coordinated schedule.

Manufacturing & pre-installation preparation

what happens

Furniture is manufactured in-house with QC checkpoints at each stage. For fit-out projects, enabling works and site preparation begins. Installation dates are locked in, aligned to production.

Timeframe

Manufacturing and site preparation scheduled confirmed with the client.

Deliverables

QC sign-offs, install-ready components & updated programme notes.

Client approval needed

Final confirmation of finishes (if required).

Integration Point

Manufacturing progresses in parallel with fit-out preparation, reducing programme length.

Installation & fit-out delivery

what happens

Fit-out works and furniture installation proceed as per the agreed programme. Components arrive labelled to room/zone. Installers adjust furniture on-site where conditions differ from drawings.

Timeframe

Varies by site size and access.

Deliverables

Completed installation, daily/weekly progress updates, walkthrough notes.

Client approval needed

Approvals at key installation milestones (if required).

Integration Point

Installation is delivered by RED contract teams, using the same drawings and packs produced for manufacture, allowing immediate adjustments.

Handover & snagging

what happens

We complete a walkthrough, record any snags and close them. Documentation is issued including RAMS, certificates, maintenance information and material data sheets. Practical completion is agreed.

Timeframe

Timeline and plan of action agreed with the client.

Deliverables

Handover pack, snag register and closure record, compliance and maintenance documentation.

Client approval needed

Sign-off on practical completion.

Integration Point

Handover and snag resolution are coordinated by RED with our installation teams.

Aftercare & support

what happens

We provide ongoing support for the installed furniture and fit-out. Spare parts, repairs and modifications are available because all specifications and manufacturing data is retained in-house.

Timeframe

Aftercare provided as required and agreed with the client.

Deliverables

Spares list, maintenance notes, repair or modifications schedule (if required).

Client approval needed

None unless modifications are requested.

Integration Point

Support is straightforward as we manufactured the furniture and hold the build specifications.

Why the integrated model improves delivery

One programme. One team. No external suppliers.

RED’s process avoids the common delays found in split fit-out and furniture supply projects.

This keeps scheduled predictable, reduces programme risk and improves installation outcomes – especially in awkward spaces or live-site environments.

Quality control & compliance at every stage

Manufacturing, installation and fit-out works are supported by documented QC procedures to guarantee your project is auditable, compliant and ready to fit on delivery with labels, fixing packs, and installation sheets.
