Ripple needed a bright, branded meeting suite with adjacent focus rooms and space for quick collaboration in Oldham. The rooms had to handle back-to-back use, keep AV tidy and stay easy to clean. RED led concept and technical design, then handled manufacture and installation under one roof for better programme control.

The brief
The brief was practical. The space needed durable furniture, clear cable routes and better acoustics without adding maintenance time. The finished rooms also had to feel consistent across meeting and focus areas, with layouts that worked properly once power, data and screens were in place.
Our approach
We turned the concept into buildable drawing packs and set out service points for power, data and AV before manufacture began. Keeping design, manufacture and installation under one roof helped maintain schedule control and reduced the risk of on-site adjustments.
Components were labelled by room and sequenced from approved drawings. Screens, table feeds and floor boxes were aligned to the final layout so installation could follow a clear plan on site.
Materials and build details
Meeting tables use ERW mild-steel box frames with CR4 sheet details for strength and durability. Tops are laminated MDF, CNC-machined and edge-banded for impact resistance and easier cleaning.
An MDF acoustic-panel feature wall on a ply substrate helps cut reverberation. Triangular illuminated inserts sit in laser-cut housings, finished in water-based paint so touch-ups are simpler and less disruptive. Redwood and ply trims protect exposed edges, reduce chipping and keep the finish consistent across rooms. The focus rooms use glass fronts with integrated thresholds, with screen and floor-box positions coordinated to keep cables out of sight.
Installation and logistics
Installation followed site packs and RAMS, with access, waste and safety planned around the approved sequence. Room labelling helped keep components in the right locations and reduced unnecessary site handling.
Results and lifecycle value
The completed project gave Ripple a more practical set of rooms for meetings, focused work and quick collaboration. The main outcomes were stronger durability, tidier cable management, improved acoustics and easier cleaning.
The material mix also supports longer service life. Laminate, steel and ply favour repair over replacement, so marked surfaces or dated fittings can be changed without replacing the whole structure. That reduces waste and helps simplify upkeep over time.
